Work In progress

Today I awoke feeling determined to do only one thing.. Create! Hoping to finish these pieces before I move. But we will see..
Started this rose about 3 years ago.. Not too sure. I am not good at painting roses.. It just doesn't work out for me. So a while  back I decided to try it out..
This is the progress I made today.

I also have another piece I really am determined to finish but it is quite large so I don't know how likely that will be.
So there you have it.
I hope I have more splurges of inspiration these next couple of days

Well, hello there..

I haven't posted anything in a couple weeks.. I think? Well Anyway not much has been going on here.. just waiting and waiting until July comes. Real excited for that.. I'll be able to spend time with my lover and that shall be exciting. I can't wait to see what we get into out here in California. Hopefully we go explore the unexplored. Which probably has been explored.. but I've never explored it? does that even make sense? (silent awkward pause).... ok moving on. Here is what I've been up to lately ...

I've Been Painting here and there.. although I do have time to do it.. I must admit I have not felt inspired .
I painted this eye in the morning today, I felt the need for "therapy" and this just seemed to work out best for me, such a relief and sense of freedom once I was finished with the eye.. I, at times, forget the talent I have and what I am capable of.
My cousin and I went to Laguna Beach early last week, I haven't been there in a while, perhaps because its about 2 hours away from where I live, such a cute place, I cant wait to go back. We randomly asked a couple if they knew of any great spots in Laguna and they recommended this amazing resort. Totally worth the 2 minute drive haha.
Have I mentioned how much I love boots? I fell in love with these boots a while back but the 300 dollar price tag that came along with these beauties led me to break my own heart and forget that they even existed. I come to find that Karmaloop had these on sale for a whomping 95 dollars I believe? ( numbers are not my strong point) ... So of course I felt the need to drop dat dough... no but really.. love them, they are made so sturdy and I already received compliments.... Only whore them once.. yeah... what you know about that? By the way, these are the Jeffrey Campbell Triplet Boots, Nasty gal has them in black for $300 or more... if you're interested :)
One thing I do love about California is the music scene, man how I'm going to miss that.. Although I do live a good hour or so away from the city of angels, I still have the opportunity to see some of my favorite bands.. Unfortunately I'm planning on moving to Hawaii.. haha which probably isn't that unfortunate, but for me, the fact that I wont get to see City and Colour as well as the AMAZING Local Natives, just makes my heart break a little more.. (I mean c'mon, I just repaired it after purchasing those cute boots) .. enough with the rants.. if you live here and if you read this.. go.. just go watch them .. for me... such amazing musicians.

feelings..

Ever felt like you were meant for something more?
Lately thats exactly how I have been feeling, its so confusing, the fact that I'm in the middle of a life changing experience, but at the same time am so used to and comfortable where I am, which is at home. but that sense of familiarity makes me feel like I've come to a halt in my artistic ability? if thats the right word? I feel stuck, lost, but at the same time excited to start a new journey in a different place that gives me inspiration like never before.
I think its those voices that are beginning to attack me.. you know.. the ones that tell you you're never gonna make it, that there are so many others like you out there, what are the chances that you are going to be the one who shines out of a million people!!! I hate those dang voices.. they are so over whelming and convincing.
And then I think to myself... either way I'm going to age, I'm going to be 30, 40, 50... whats the point of not following my dream, when in the end all I can take with me are my memories.
I guess its mostly because I don't know where to begin, how to get my work out there.. who do I show it to? what am I supposed to do?
I mean I could start doing work for people and selling my original pieces, but that is such a difficult thing to do. These paintings are a part of who I am and who I've come to be... perhaps thats what is holding me back.. I'm stuck in the past...

I need to figure this out soon..
  I should go to bed...

My life really isn't that exciting

Look at this cute creature, basking in the sun. This is in North Shore
Here I am at the Dole Plantation enjoying some pineapple ice cream.. Love Love
This burger is pretty darn good, the restaurant is called Sweet Home Waimanalo.. hopefully I spelled that right. It is a black bean burger that I've been dying to try ever since my cousins girlfriend told me about it.
Uhm.. Can I just build a hut here and live in this spot forever? Probably not a good idea hah, but certainly a spectacular view
First thing is first.. When you're walking through a scary ass tunnel and the people walking out are talking about scary huge cockroaches, and you realize you have sandals on, and you also remember that these bugs fly in Hawaii... I mean who wouldn't want to turn back out of fear that they their toes would get harassed by some huge bugs? (lets face it, Im a wennie).. well... at least I went in for a little haha
This hike was nice, It got hot for a while and all, but the view.. totally worth it
Angry Pandas!... love seeing the art work around town, I felt inspired for a minute.. then I remembered that I miss my brushes and paint.
So theres this cool little place somewhere in town.. google it.. seriously. It has a cute botanical boutique   next door that I didn't get a chance to go into because I was upset that my "Sopa seca" or whatever was kinda not that yum, but my sweet love had the fish tacos and those were definitely good.
I love how many beaches there are. Its exciting to know that I'm going to be able to enjoy this

This blog makes it seem like I travel a lot. Which I don't usually do, I feel special :)
I go home tomorrow, but I should be back in AUGUST! WOOP WOOP!

Shop 'til you drop?

I SHOP TOO MUCH..
Alright well the last couple of weeks I've been thriftin'.. and shoppin' and shoppin' some more... but here are a couple of things that I've gotten, which I LoVE :)
 Those hats tho..... ahhh!
Those leather shorts have to be one of my favorite finds EVER, I was actually looking for some last summer, I find it kinda funny that I tend to find what I want when Im not looking for it... Yeap lucky me. That lace-y type thing is a skirt that fits like a glove, and that red awesome looking fabric are some light weight high waisted shorts that are super comfy...

San Diego, I Love You

This week my family decided to take a trip to San Diego, I was real excited. The last time I went to San Diego I saw Interpol (the band) at Soma. Oh! what an experience, one of my favorite bands! We stayed in town and had a blast.
This time around my family and I stayed at a hotel right on the beach! This might not be a big deal for some of you, but when you live in a desert your whole life, it is haha.. Well the hotel itself was okay, but the view from the hotel was spectacular.. I felt so blessed to have been there, specially with my beautiful family.
We were close to many shops, like Brandy Melville <3 and Urban Outfitters, so of course I shopped a little, and afterward we walked on the boardwalk.. it was a pretty cold evening but it was nice.
 Hotel View
This was my view on my tuesday morning run
 Another view from the hotel
My niece likes to watch me from weird angles, ahaha
And these babies are from Richard Walker's Pancake House in town... Mine weren't as appealing but these sure were:)
