It has been a while since I came on here. I've been drawing a lot, since I'm back in California, I kind of have to. All my paint brushes are in Hawaii, and my paint is somewhere in my sisters stuff. Anyway I've finished a couple of drawings and while in Hawaii I was able to finish a painting. So here it is.

The other day I wanted to paint so bad, so I had to transfer that energy into drawing. Sometimes it just doesn't feel the same :( The control I have with watercolor, I can't find with any other medium. Anyway it has really given me a chance to work on my drawing skills so thats a plus.
Here is one I finished while still in Hawaii.

I'm thinking about opening an Etsy store or a big cartel one, maybe not sure yet. My work is starting to take over my space and I think I'm getting ready to actually let it go.

In other news I applied to several art schools, so hopefully I get in.

Reminder

I've found a new love, and her name is YOGA! ..... in other news I haven't been up to much lately.. but here are some nice photographs of the beaches I live near.

This last photograph is from "The Dead Mans Catwalk", ill be honest. I was too afraid to take many pictures, my nerves got the best of me. 

I love living in Hawaii, its so beautiful, but boy do I miss my CALIFORNIA. 

Exploring

This is the Honolulu Night Market, my life partner and I finally decided to go do something fun tonight, and this was it. It was real nice and exciting. I was so excited to go, I really need to either start blinking more often or wear my glasses because a lot of the photographs I shot turned out blurry!! 

 It was nice seeing how involved some of these artists were.

 The food was pretty good, I did end up getting a Mexican style hot dog but from a different tent.. it brought me back to those days when I would walk around hollywood boulevard at 2am eating a bacon wrapped hot dog. Those were the days.. haha

This little event made me miss California, specially right now because of the AV fair and LA county fair. Anyway this was real fun, I cant wait for the next one this coming month..

New Beginnings

I've moved to Hawaii, it is so beautiful out here, it is unbelievable. I haven't had a chance to visit the beach just yet, but when I do, ill be sure to try to remember my camera, so I can have some nice pictures to post on here :) 

 I've been working on a new painting, even though I have a couple I'm still working on..  

I have a limited amount of paint because I was not able to bring it with me on the plane.. 

Im real sad about that but hopefully my family remembers to mail it to me one day, by the looks of it though.. who knows when that is going to happen. Although not having all my colors has forced me to create my own which has been a cool experience so far.

My idea behind this painting was just a woman who is stuck in this place without the ability to move anywhere else. I thought it would be fun to paint a tree, and I also wanted to challenge myself with painting a woman, specially her face, as you can see I messed up the nose haha.. hopefully I can somehow fix it. I hope this painting comes out good, I really love the vibrant yellow greenish moss color, that took me by surprise.

Don't talk back

Im not good at keeping my mouth shut, in fact, over the past couple of years I've learned to hold back a lot. Specially when it comes to my emotions, I used to scream, and curse, and whatever else. My way of coping with these problems? ART.. it works well for me, I see it as my therapy. Whenever I am extremely sad, a little mad, even when I am happy. It always helps me with whatever I have going on.

I bought some prismacolor colored pencils yesterday and decided to try them out. I have NEVER used color pencil before so I started drawing some lips and I also drew a sphere and added some shading to it. I like how vibrant the colors are, real nice. I hope I can get the hang of it, I've seen some peoples work with colored pencil and its just unbelievable.

Isn't that just beautiful? Mia Ulmer is the artist, I found it online, so amazing.

So many layers! Now I see why I started painting in watercolor so much. 

I've been downloading apps for iPhone, photography ones.. Just for fun. Love how you can change a picture so much.. I really liked how this painting came out in black and white so I figured.. Why not? 

I move to Hawaii in a little over two weeks. I feel like it's starting to get to me.. I'm going to miss California.. 

Anyway back to watching X-men :)
